This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") outlines the prohibited uses of Stayswitch’s platforms, website, rental services, and any other services we provide as permitted by applicable law (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to comply with this Policy. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your account or provision of our Services if we determine, at our sole discretion, that you have violated this Policy. The list of activities below is illustrative and not exhaustive.
General Use Restrictions
You are prohibited from using the Services for, or in connection with, any of the following activities:
- Illegal Activities: Any activity that violates, or supports the violation of, any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation, including but not limited to criminal activities such as fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, distributing child pornography, human trafficking, or the sale of controlled substances, cybercrimes, or identity theft, as defined by local law (e.g., the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015 (as amended)).
- Harmful & Abusive Activities: Any activity that could harm, disrupt, or compromise the integrity of our Services, systems, or networks. This includes uploading or distributing malicious code, initiating denial-of-service attacks, overloading our infrastructure, or attempting unauthorized access to our platforms or related systems.
- Harassment and Abuse: Using the Services to harass, abuse, threaten, stalk, defame, or otherwise infringe upon the legal rights of any other user, individual, or Stayswitch employee. This includes hate speech, bullying, extortion, and any form of harmful communication.
- Sanctions Violations: Conducting transactions that violate economic or trade sanctions administered by any applicable governmental authority, including sanctions imposed by the Nigerian government, the US government, the Swiss government, the United Nations Security Council, or the European Union.
- Reputational Harm: Engaging in fraudulent, deceptive, or predatory activities that mislead others or could cause significant reputational damage to Stayswitch, its partners, or affiliates.
Prohibited Business Categories
You may not use the Services for businesses or transactions involving the following categories. We reserve the right to update this list at any time:
- Illegal Goods & Services: The sale of items listed on the Nigerian Customs Administration Prohibition List, counterfeit goods, stolen property, illegal drugs, or any product that violates Nigeria’s intellectual property laws.
- Harmful or Regulated Products: Weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, controlled substances, steroids, narcotics, chemicals without appropriate licenses, blood, bodily fluids, or human body parts, recalled items, or burglary tools.
- Adult & Obscene Material: Pornography, obscene materials, or certain sexually oriented services.
- Unlicensed Activities: Unlicensed financial services, banking, brokerage, lotteries, sports betting, casino gaming, or multi-level marketing programs, pyramid schemes, Ponzi schemes, or other "get rich quick" schemes.
- Sensitive Information: The sale of government documents, personal financial records, personal identification information, or any other data that violates the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023.
- Hate & Violence: Items that promote hate, violence, racial intolerance, or the financial exploitation of a crime.
- Government & Military Imitation: The production or sale of military, paramilitary, police, or other official government uniforms and accoutrements.
Our Actions and Enforcement
If we believe you have violated this Policy, we may take any action we deem appropriate without prior notice to mitigate risk and ensure compliance. These actions may include:
- Issuing a warning or placing restrictions on your account.
- Suspending or terminating your access to the Services and your account.
- Terminating our business relationship with you and any related service agreements.
- Reporting your activities to law enforcement, regulatory agencies, or impacted third parties.
- Taking legal action against you.
- Seeking reimbursement for any costs, fines, or penalties (including reasonable legal fees) we incur due to your violation.
Policy Updates
We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time. We will post the updated version on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
